Stage Technology

The project was funded under the program “Pythagoras: reinforcement of research groups in universities 2004-07 (Code subproject: 80 013).

Research Coordinator: Apostolos-Fokion Vettas

The research focuses on the development of stage technology (both stationary and mobile equipments), along with stage design constructions, from Renaissance to date. Areas of research include:

  • Stage machines and mechanisms
  • The study and visual representation of the most important of these mechanisms
  • Special techniques applied in scenographic constructions

Studies, visual representations and models produced in the course of research are permanently exhibited within the School’s premises (Exadaktilou building, 4th floor).
