Lecturer of Theatre Studies

Born in Thessaloniki in 1960. Studied Greek Literature at the Aristotle University, where she acquired her PhD diploma on Theatre Studies. She teaches theatre direction, theatre history and theory of drama, as a lecturer at the Drama Department of the Fine Arts School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
On the same time she works as professional theatre director.From 1983 till 1992 she has worked as assistant director at the Experimental Theatre of Thessaloniki, at the following productions: The Alchemist by Ben Johnson, Veggera by Elias Kapetanakis, Assemblywomen by Aristophanes, Jeux de massacre by Eugene Ionesco, Four No plays by Ucio Misima, Alkeste, Phoencian Women by Euripides, Dancing at Lughnasa by Brian Friel.
Since 1992 she has directed the following plays:
Walking in the woods by Stella Michaelidou: a new original composition of famous children’s tales, which has been directed by her three times. 1992 at the Experimental Theatre of Thessaloniki, 1997 at the Municipal Theatre of Patras and finally in 2001 at the Experimental Theatre of Thessaloniki with a new cast.
Our country’s good by Timberlake Wertenbaker, at the Experimental Theatre of Thessaloniki, 1994.
The puppet play of Don Cristobal by Federico Garcia Lorca, at the Experimental Theatre of Thessaloniki, 1998.
The hat by Paul Maar, at the Serres, 2000.
Der Theatermacher by Thomas Bernhard, at the Experimental Theatre of Thessaloniki, 2001.
Trelantonis by Penelope Delta, adapted for the theatre by Glykeria Kalaitzi, at the National Theatre of Northern Greece, 2002.
Living Quarters by Brian Friel, at the National Theatre of Northern Greece, 2003.
Factory Girls by Frank McGuinness, at the Experimental Theatre of Thessaloniki, 2003-2004 (translated and directed).
Men in crisis (three one act plays by Jacob Kampanellis) at the Experimental Theatre of Thessaloniki, 2005.
The Caucasian Chalk, adapted for children theatre by Giannis Kalatzopoulos, at the Municipal Theatre of Kavala, 2005.
The Visitor by George Themelis, at the National Theatre of Northern Greece, 2006.
The Beauty and the Beast, adapted for the theatre by Glykeria Kalaitzi, at the National Theatre of Northern Greece, 2006.
The Loves of Cass McGuire by Brian Friel at National Theatre of Cyprus (ΘΟΚ), 2008 (translated and directed).
Dogs Barking by Richard Zajdlic at the National Theatre of Northern Greece, 2008 (translated and directed)
The Country by Martin Crimp, at the Experimental Theatre of Thessaloniki, premier in February 2009 (translated and directed).
Three Sisters by Anton Chekhov, at the Passatempo Theatre Group in March 2011 (adapted and directed).
Oleanna by David Mamet, at the Passatempo Theatre Group in December 2011 (translated and directed).
The Beggar’s Opera by John Gay, at the Passatempo Theatre Group in July 2012 (translated and directed).
