Panayiota Konstantinakou holds a PhD in Theatre Studies from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as a bursar of the Greek State Scholarships Foundation. She also holds a BA in Theatre Studies (School of Drama, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), a Diploma in Drama from the University of Kent at Canterbury and an MPhil (Research) from the University of Glasgow as a Bakala Foundation bursar. Additionally, she holds an MA in «Information and Communication Technologies in Education» (Intra-University Postgraduate Course, partnership of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education and the Faculty of Communication and Mass Media Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Department of Architecture, University of Thessaly and the Department of Electronics Engineering, University of West Attica).

She works as a free-lance Dramaturg for state and municipal theatres, festivals and private companies in Greece. She specializes on classical plays, literary adaptations, youth theatre, documentary theatre and site-specific performance.

She has worked extensively as a theatre educator in public schools and has conducted workshops on theatre teaching topics. She has produced theatre-based education packs for Grasshopper Youth and Papalangi Theatre Company.

As a theatre scholar she has presented papers in meetings and conferences in Greece and abroad (Prague Quadrennial 2007 & 2011 & 2015 – IFTR Munich, 2010) and has articles published in journals, edited volumes and conference proceedings. Her research interests include: the theory and practice of dramaturgy; the history and theory of scenography and theatre architecture; the aesthetics and ideology of space; theatre and the moving image. She has taught at the School of Drama, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2016-2018) and the Department of Theatre Studies, University of Patras (2017-2019).
